Share It Sunday Blog Hop-Inspiration Piece

Hey Y'all!
Happy Sunday! It's time for the monthly Share It Sunday Blog Hop with the Crafty Collaborators. We are a group of crafters that enjoy sharing our love of papercrafting with you. The Share It Sunday hop is pretty much "anything goes," we can choose to share anything we want.

Last Monday on my Facebook Live, I made a project inspired by this door hanger made by my friend Sheli Ladner (she has a store-This Is Home For Us in Whigham, GA). Can you guess which set I used?

The Flowering Rain Boots bundle, of course!

I started with a Pool Party cardbase, then added a Basic White panel embossed with the Brick 3D Embossing Folder. I die cut a circle from a wood grain pattern from the Heart and Home DSP, then added Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush. I stamped the flowers in different colors, die cut them, then cut them apart to make the multicolored bouquet. The stems were inked up in Granny Apple Green, then I used sponge daubers to add Garden Green to get the variegated look.

I used the Pattern Party DSP for the rainboots and the greeting, which was die cut from the Amazing Thanks dies. The Foam Adhesive Sheets are awesome for popping up those cut out letters and words! I stamped the rainboot image onto the DSP, then die cut.  By the way, the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss is on sale along with several bundles until the end of March! You can click the Savings Are In Bloom photo above to see more details.

Here you can see the first card I made with a different greeting. I had made 2 different cards, one before the live and one during the live. I popped this one off in the mail to her before taking a picture! This is a picture she posted on Facebook, and I am so glad, because I wanted you to see the different greetings. I die cut the letters from Playful Alphabet.
So what inspires you? Have you ever CASE'd something that wasn't a card originally? I'm so glad you joined me today, now take a look at what everyone else is sharing!

Announcing the 2022-24 In Colors

Hey Y'all!
Stampin’ Up! Has given us a sneak peek of the brand new In Colors coming in the Annual Catalog that goes live in May. As a demonstrator, I’ve already seen it (FYI, you can become a demo, or if you don’t want to do as a business, a “happy shopper” by purchasing from yourself at a discount) and get all of these sneak peeks yourself, plus get to order products before anyone else! I would love love love to have you on my team! The Starter Kit really is the best deal in the catalog.
But I digress! I promised you the new In Colors, and here they are:

This was the first one they introduced. I am loving the bright, happy look of the new In Colors, and Sweet Sorbet
is going to be so much fun!

If you’ve been around for a few of years, you remember my obsession with Lemon Lime Twist. When it retired, I almost needed therapy (just kidding.) Parakeet Party is very similar, so I think it and myself are going to be REEEEAAALLLY good friends😂

I can’t wait to ink up some ocean images (think Waves of the Ocean set, also Oceanfront!) with this beautiful color! If you love the beach, you will definitely want this color in your collection!

Ok, Misty Moonlight is probably my favorite current In Color. It will probably call for a moment of silence on retirement day (May 2 will be the last day to order from the 2022-22 Annual Catalog, May 3 the new one goes live to customers.) So I am happy to see this color, it is close to Misty Moonlight.

This color reminds me of periwinkle. It is going to be beautiful for floral images, don’t you think?

So what In Color are you most excited about?  I can’t wait to get my hands on them, I’ve already got my wish list going for the new catalog. So many fun things in store! But also so many current sets to play with…I love the variety Stampin’ Up! provides us. And the quality of the product, the color coordination of the ink, paper, ribbon, embellishments is second to none.
Remember the 20% off sale that includes the Mini Cut & Emboss, plus the preorder of the Waves of the Ocean Suite.

Faux Stepper Card With Celebrate Sunflowers

Hey Y'all!
I have a stunning card to share with you today that I CASE’d from fellow demonstrator Helen Jennings, she blogs at Love a Duckie. She created a Faux Stepper Card using the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and dies. Here is the card she created:

I loved it and wanted to learn how to do the fun fold as well use the sunflower set that is one of my favorites. This is what I came up with:

I wanted the center sunflower to "pop," so I stamped it in Bumblebee ink onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, die cut the detailed die in shimmery white as well.

The other 2 sunflowers are tone-on-tone stamped, Bumblebee ink onto Bumblebee cardstock, and Bumblebee the detailed die. The centers are die cut in Cinnamon Cider.

The card base is Cinnamon Cider, and CC ink was used with blending brushes to help create my own Designer Series Paper.  I used a wood grain pattern from the Heart & Home DSP and added ink with a blending brush to tone down the stark white and gray. Then I stamped the small sunflower and leaf images to create a pattern.

I tried to pick up the shimmer I added with a Wink of Stella pen.  The sentiment was stamped in Memento Ink onto a die cut from Stitched So Sweetly. Gold foil die cuts, die cut leaf images, and Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon are what I chose as embellishments.

This is one of those cards that takes a bit of time, but the end result is oh so worth it. And, by the way, the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle is one of the bundles on sale during the month of March. Go to my online store to see all of the bundles on sale.

Card Measurements:
  • Cinnamon Cider card base 9 x 4-1/4, scored at 1-1/4, 2-1/2, 5-3/4
  • Center Panel-Cinnamon Cider 8-1/2 x 2-1/2
  • DSP-Front panel 5-1/4 x 2-1/4, Center Panel 4 x 3, Bottom Step Panel 1 x 4
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this card, I love to hear your feedback!
