Painted Seasons-Best Ever

Hey Y’all!
I can’t believe we have less than 1 month of Saleabration! And this has been one of the most successful I’ve ever been a part of. So many things have sold out within days of being announced...which can be frustrating for sure. But today’s card features 2 stamp sets from the selection of free goodies, and since Stampin’ Up! manufactures their own stamp sets, they will be available until the very end.
And this color palette...it was just one of those moments a that you hear the hallelujah chorus or something!
Smoky Slate for the card base, Pool Party in that gorgeous DSP in the Painted Seasons Bundle, Flirty Flamingo flowers, and Granny Apple Green leaves.
The sentiment comes from another Saleabration set, “All Adorned,” and stamped in Smoky Slate onto my all-time favorite framelit from the Stitched Labels gives just the right touch of softness to this card. There are also matching framelits for the Painted Seasons stamps, but I just “fussy cut” the leaves. As of right now, they are still available, but only while supplies last, so if you want them, get them quick! The Metallic Edge Ribbon adds a touch of elegance.
Stamping the inside of the card (and the envelope) is as much fun as decorating the card front!
Tips & Tricks
  • Card Base-Smoky Slate 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4,  DSP layer and Whisper White inside layer-4 x 5-1/4
  • "Stamp off" (stamp image onto a scrap piece of paper) flower after inking in Flirty Flamingo to get lighter color.
  • Place strips of snail onto back of label to attach leaves and ribbon
  • The Die Brush is great for removing pieces stuck after running through Big Shot

Only a few more days to grab this beautiful set!  And both stamp sets and the gorgeous Designer Series Paper you can only get for FREE!  A $150 purchase will earn you the Painted Seasons Bundle and the All-Adorned stamps.  Plus, that will be considered a workshop, and you will receive another $15 (10%) of product in host rewards!  Or, even better, if you are going to spend over $99, join my team as a demonstrator for $99, and get $175 of product!! What a deal! (Saleabration products cannot be earned with the starter it, they require a separate purchase.)  When you become a demonstrator you can enjoy 20-25% off of future purchases.  Contact me for more details, or click on the Join The Fun Tab to sign up.  Click on the links below to order any products used, if you are ordering less than $150, please use the current host code found in the right column.

Poinsettia Card With Copper Highlights-Global Design Project #165 Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Who has their Christmas Tree up already?  There is a debate about when it should go up...I do like to wait until after Thanksgiving, but it goes up that weekend!
This week, the Global Design Project has a color challenge:

I have a beautiful card to share with you today using this color combination....

Now this card is definitely for the "avid" crafter. At OnStage in Orlando, the Stampin' Up! Convention, they talked about "Beginner," "Casual," and "Avid" crafters.  A "Beginner" crafter is just starting out and enjoys making simple cards that don't use alot of tools and techniques that would easily overwhelm them.  A "Casual" crafter uses more tools like punches, but may not craft as often or have as many supplies as an "Avid" crafter.  If you look up "Avid" crafter in the dictionary, you will see my picture (and every other Stampin' Up! demonstrator's!)  After all, we have to support our habit, right?  We enjoy our Big Shot and embellish with die cuts, embossing, and many other techniques.
The Poinsettia flower is the "Star of the Show" on this card, and you won't believe how I made it!  I used 8 cut outs of the large leaf die from the Rooted In Nature bundle and attached them to a 1" circle.
I absolutely love copper, and our Bright Copper Shimmer Paint and Copper Foil give elegant accents. And the Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon is so beautiful!  Pictures don't do it justice!
Tips and Tricks:
  • Card dimensions: Base-5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4, Tranquil Tide mat 4-1/8 x 5-1/4, Very Vanilla mat 3-3/4 x 5
  • Use a sponge dauber to apply shimmer paint to stamps, embossed die cuts, and also give edging to layers
  • The Stamparatus made stamping those leaves with the shimmer paint so easy-just use the negative from the die cut as a template, line up stamp in template, and stamp over and over.
  • When putting the "petals" together to make the flower, glue them to a 1" circle, first 4 in a cross shape, then fill in the gaps with the other four.
  • Use your bone folder to bend leaves to add dimension, also to curl corners of paper for a "vintage" look.
  • The Big Shot Embossing Mat gives a deep impression to "emboss only" dies, like the leaves used here.  You can also use them to emboss with dies!  They are amazing!

So do you consider yourself a beginner, casual, or avid crafter?  Leave me a comment below and let me know.  Be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss any projects, and hopefully be inspired and learn tips and tricks to help you in your papercrafting, no matter what level you are!  Are you a beginer or casual crafter wanting to become more avid, or an avid crafter looking to expand your stash?  I would love for you to join my team and become a demonstrator, absolutely no risk involved!  You can do it as business if you like, but many join for the discount!  Click the Join My Team button at the top of the blog to find out more information.  The Starter Kit is hands down the best deal in the catalog!
If you would like to order any of the products I used, and you don't currently have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, simply click on the pictures below to go to my online store.  Please use the current host code found in the right column.

Buffalo Check, Country Home, and Global Design Project #161

Hey Y'all!
We are trying to get back to normal in my neck of the woods after Hurricane Michael decided to visit. Our little town of Bainbridge, GA looks like a war zone!  But we did not get hit nearly as bad as others.  I'm sure you have seen pictures on the news, and the destruction is indescribable!  We are so thankful for God's blessings during this time.  Please pray for those who have lost so much, and those who are working on the recovery effort; it is going to be a long process.
So that's one reason I am excited to share this card with you!  I haven't been able to do much stamping through all of this, and boy, have I missed it!  Y'all know I love the challenges over at Global Design Project .  And this week it is a color challenge.
Don't those colors just say "Fall?"  I knew they would be perfect paired with the Country Home set.  I also pulled out my Buffalo Plaid background stamp (that I am in LOVE with by the way!).

I stamped the Buffalo Check in Old Olive, then I "jazzed it up" and made a plaid pattern with my Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write markers.  Simply use a ruler to draw lines with the fine tip.

I added a lot of copper elements to this project as well.  I embossed the Copper Foil piece with the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF.  I also used the Bright Copper shimmer paint to add flecks of copper to the background and also used it on the berries in the stamped image.  To add the flecks, pour a drop of shimmer paint onto an acrylic block, squeeze a small amount of water from your Aqua Painter and mix it, pick up some of the paint with your brush tip then tap it against the cap, or anything firm.  Make sure you have everything out of the way that you don't want copper flecks on, it can get messy!  I used the stylus from the Pick Me Up tool to pick up some of the paint and add to the berries.  And can you see the copper edge on the Old Olive layer?  That was achieved with a sponge dauber dipped in the shimmer paint.
I stamped the can in Versamark and embossed with Copper embossing powder.  I stamped the floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink since I was going to color with Stampin' Blends.  The variation in the leaf color was achieved by blending different colors of the Stampin' Blends. You don't have to just blend light and dark of the same color, I used Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie, light and dark, with just a touch of Mango Melody.  And you know I have to add some shimmer with my Wink of Stella!
I layered a circle die cut from that stunning Country Lane DSP that is part of this suite, then "fussy cut" and popped up my stamped image.  A bow from the Braided Linen Trim attached to one of the Galvanized Clips was a perfect accent to finish off the card.
Card Measurements:
  • Card Base  4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2
  • Old Olive layer 4 x 5-1/4
  • Next layer 3-3/4 x 5
  • Copper Foil 1-1/2 x 3-3/4
