I Just Love You-Global Design Project #181

Hey Y’all!
It's been awhile, but today I had time to play with the Global Design Project's Color Challenge.
Don't you love these bright, fun colors!  I chose the "I just love you" stamp from Petal Palette (2018-19 Annual Catalog) and did some tone-on-tone stamping....
Then I used that beautiful die cut heart from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits (2019 Occasions Catalog). I  heat embossed the sentiment in white on Basic Black cardstock, it really makes it pop!  I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch, and added a small bow with some Whisper White Baker's Twine.
I have a very special friend that I am going to send this card to, I hope it brightens their day!  It makes me happy just looking at these colors, such a fun challenge!
Tips and Tricks:
  • Card Measurements: Thick Whisper White card base 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4, Basic Black layer 4-3/8 x 5-5/8, Whisper White 4 x 5-1/4, Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, and Lemon Lime Twist 4 x 1-5/8
  • Tone on tone stamping is stamping ink onto the same color cardstock, a very easy way to add interest or a background.
  • Use Grid Paper to line up strips onto Whisper White layer, adhere top and bottom strip first, then add the middle piece to make sure it is centered.
  • The thin border of black makes the card front "pop" and also ties in the black label
  • Dimensionals come in 2 sizes-regular and mini.  I used the regular to pop up the black panel, and the mini to pop up the embossed sentiment.
  • Attach bows with Glue Dots
  • The Die Brush is a must-have tool to remove the tiny pieces from these intricate dies.
  • Thick Whisper White cardstock is perfect for card bases.  I used to only use regular, but it makes such a difference in the sturdiness and overall feel of the card.

Painted Seasons-Best Ever

Hey Y’all!
I can’t believe we have less than 1 month of Saleabration! And this has been one of the most successful I’ve ever been a part of. So many things have sold out within days of being announced...which can be frustrating for sure. But today’s card features 2 stamp sets from the selection of free goodies, and since Stampin’ Up! manufactures their own stamp sets, they will be available until the very end.
And this color palette...it was just one of those moments a that you hear the hallelujah chorus or something!
Smoky Slate for the card base, Pool Party in that gorgeous DSP in the Painted Seasons Bundle, Flirty Flamingo flowers, and Granny Apple Green leaves.
The sentiment comes from another Saleabration set, “All Adorned,” and stamped in Smoky Slate onto my all-time favorite framelit from the Stitched Labels gives just the right touch of softness to this card. There are also matching framelits for the Painted Seasons stamps, but I just “fussy cut” the leaves. As of right now, they are still available, but only while supplies last, so if you want them, get them quick! The Metallic Edge Ribbon adds a touch of elegance.
Stamping the inside of the card (and the envelope) is as much fun as decorating the card front!
Tips & Tricks
  • Card Base-Smoky Slate 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4,  DSP layer and Whisper White inside layer-4 x 5-1/4
  • "Stamp off" (stamp image onto a scrap piece of paper) flower after inking in Flirty Flamingo to get lighter color.
  • Place strips of snail onto back of label to attach leaves and ribbon
  • The Die Brush is great for removing pieces stuck after running through Big Shot

Only a few more days to grab this beautiful set!  And both stamp sets and the gorgeous Designer Series Paper you can only get for FREE!  A $150 purchase will earn you the Painted Seasons Bundle and the All-Adorned stamps.  Plus, that will be considered a workshop, and you will receive another $15 (10%) of product in host rewards!  Or, even better, if you are going to spend over $99, join my team as a demonstrator for $99, and get $175 of product!! What a deal! (Saleabration products cannot be earned with the starter it, they require a separate purchase.)  When you become a demonstrator you can enjoy 20-25% off of future purchases.  Contact me for more details, or click on the Join The Fun Tab to sign up.  Click on the links below to order any products used, if you are ordering less than $150, please use the current host code found in the right column.

CASE Yourself-Let's Get Hopping Round 18

Hey Y'all!
I'm so excite to hop today with the Let's Get Hopping Crew, I know you are being inspired by so many beautiful projects!  Our challenge is to CASE ourselves (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit.)  I chose a card that was one of my most favorite to make, and it was actually cased from Tina Zinck. The technique used on the card is Masking and Sponging, and I loved how it looked like a painting.  Here is my original card:
You can go here to see how I made this and what supplies I used.
Who doesn't love a sunset?  It is one of God's greatest masterpieces to me, a new painting every day, a special gift from Him.  To CASE this card, I stayed with the sunset theme, but instead of an ocean, I stayed on land this time.

Sticky Notes make the perfect masks...that is what I used to mask off the horizon.  I punched a 1" circle for the sun, and then stamped the horse image onto one (make sure you get the sticky edge on part of the mask.)  I had fussy cut the horse, that was the hardest part of the card!  But it wasn't so bad.
Starting with the lightest color first, blend the ink using the Stamping Sponges.  You can go back and forth between light and dark until you get the desired effect.
The yellow sun was actually a happy accident, I forgot to put my mask down before I started sponging.  The So Saffron was already there, I just added my 1" circle mask and continued sponging, making the area around the sun darker.  I liked the effect, which proves there are no "mistakes" in stamping or card making!  They are all embellishment opportunities lol!  The Stamparatus allowed me to stamp the sentiment several times to get a dark crisp image.  Linen thread was the finishing touch.
Are you loving the projects you are seeing?  Did you know the Let's Get Hopping Blog Hop has a Pinterest board you can follow?  Check it out here.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Card measurements: Base-Thick Whisper White 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" scored at 4-1/4, Basic Black layer 5-3/8 x 4-1/8, WW layer 4-3/4 x 5
  • Cut the Stampin' Sponges in fourths-it saves money and makes sponging much easier
  • If your mask leaves white spaces, i.e. the horse, go around the image with Stampin' Write markers or Stampin' Blends.
Eimear Carvill's blog is the next stop, just click below to see her amazing creation!  I know you will love it!
Remember we are in the final month of Saleabration!  For every $50 you order in product, you can choose a Saleabration item.  And there are so many choices!  If you live in the US and would like to order any of the products I used and don't already have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would love to earn your business.  If you would like a catalog, please email me and I will be happy to send you one.
