Stepped Up Card

Hey Y'all!
Do you believe Christmas is in 4 days!  I am SO not ready! I have high hopes for this weekend!  I am cramming alot of projects in to 3 days!
As promised, I wanted to show you the stepped up version of the card from Monday's blog.  You can see that post here.
I die cut a square frame using the Stitched Shape Framelits and popped the frame up using adhesive strips, added a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic TIEF.

I then sprayed it with gold shimmer paint mixed with alcohol in a Stampin' Spritzer.  (To make the shimmer spray, add 4-5 drops of shimmer paint to a Stampin' Spritzer, then fill with rubbing alcohol, 70% works best, and shake well.)  I don't know if you can see the beautiful sparkle in the picture, but it is gorgeous in person.

Simple Stamping Wreath-Global Design Project #168

Hey Y'all!
Christmas is almost here, and I am not nearly ready!  I've got several cards to make, and I love the simplicity of the card I am sharing with you today.  I also made a stepped up version, but me and my husband both agree this one is our favorite.
I am playing along with the Global Design Project challenge this week.  The challenge is to CASE the Designer:
Here is my card:
I combined 2 sets, Wishing You Well from the Holiday Catalog (it is carrying over, I'm so happy!) and Hearts Come Home from the Annual Catalog.
Classic Christmas colors, Old Olive and Real Red.  And I love the wood grain in the Designer Series Paper.
The sentiment was one long stamp, "Joy to the world."  I just split it up.  Watch for the stepped up version coming later this week.  I will post a link to it on this blog entry when I publish it.
Thanks for stopping by!  The products used are listed below if you are interested in purchasing.

Christmas Mini-Gable Box Treat Holder

Hey Y'all!
Are you getting ready for Christmas?  I've got a fun project to share with you today, and I hesitated to share it because it uses some retired items, but it is just so stinking cute I had to show it to you!
Now this was not my original idea, credit goes to Le'zards de Cilou, she blogs at lezardsdecilou.wordpress.com.  She posted her project on a Facebook page for demonstrators, and I fell in love!
I first stamped the box with the Hardwood background stamp, then used the Corrugated TIEF on a piece of poppy parade for the roof.  The green trim was made with the Pick A Pennant bundle. Why have I not been using Call Me Clover? It and Poppy Parade are such a fun combination! The windows and door are from a retired set, Sweet Home, but a current die you can use is these Pop-Up House Thinlits.  I do not have this yet (it's on my list though) but I included it in the products in case you are interested in recreating this project.
I love the North Pole seal in this stamp set!  This has been a popular suite, in fact, the dies and DSP (Designer Series Paper) are no longer available.  I used the DSP for the elf, wagon, gifts, and North Pole sign, but all of these are elements you can use the stamp set to create and color yourself.  The stamp set is retiring, and will only be available until January 2.  So if you want it, you need to get it soon!
Tips and Tricks:
  • "Roof" cardstock is approximately 4 x 1-1/4.  Glue to box, then trim excess
  • I used the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend marker to give the illusion of light in the windows
  • Back the windows and door with a piece of WW and trim to fit. Color with the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to make it look like light shining through.
  • Shimmery Embossing Paste makes beautiful 3D snow, apply with a palette knife
  • Use the Stamparatus to get even placement for the Hardwood background stamp, stamp both side of the box while it is still flat.
  • I believe in using what you have! New stuff is always great, but if you have something that will work, use it!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I plan to fill this with candy and give as a gift. What would you put in here?  Leave me a comment and let me know how you like this project! If you would like to order any of the products I used, click on the pictures below and it will take you to my online store.  Please use the current host code in the right column.
