Treasured Kindness & Let's Get Hopping Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
I joined the Let's Get Hopping crew for an Instahop, and wanted to share my project here on my blog. We were given a Color Challenge: Very Vanilla, Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo, and Poppy Parade.

I chose to use Treasured Kindness, a beautiful 2-step stamp from the Annual Catalog. I was actually given this set, along with a pack of Distressed Gold paper and a pack of the Champagne Rhinestones by my upline Bethany Barnard as an achievement award. She invited myself and the other achievers to her home, and she fed us lunch and had projects for us to make using this set. I will have to share those in another post. (PS thank you to my customers and downline for your support and helping me achieve these rewards. PSS YOU can achieve these as well by joining my team, the Southern Accents Stampin' Squad, SASS for short. That automatically makes you a member of Partners In Craft.)

Usually, I'm not one to use funky colors, I like to stick with what is natural-blue for sky and water, green for leaves, yellow for sun, etc. But when I started thinking about the color combo and how I would use those colors together, this set with that tree and sun just popped into my mind. I started with a Very Vanilla cardbase, then embossed a VV panel with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. For my focal image, I stamped onto a 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 panel of Very Vanilla. I started with half circle image, stamping that in Pale Papaya. Then I stamped the tree trunk in Crumb Cake. Since this is a 2-step stamp, that means there are stamps to fill in an image. I inked up the 2nd image for the tree trunk, the fill-in color, in Crumb Cake, then stamped off before stamping onto my project to make it a lighter color. For the "leaves", I stamped the solid image in Pale Papaya, then the detailed image in Poppy Parade. The "sun" image was stamped in Flirty Flamingo. I layered this onto a piece of Pale Papaya cropped with a die from Scalloped Contours. For the sentiment, I cropped a label from Seasonal Labels in all 4 of the challenge colors. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla, then cut the other labels in 1/2 and stacked them. I added a Pale Papaya and popped it up with dimensionals. You can go to Instagram and hop through to see what my friends did with this challenge!

Metallics Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!
Welcome to the Crafty Collaborators' Metallics Blog Hop. We are using metallic elements in our projects today.  This was somewhat of a challenge for me because I tend to lean more to a vintage look, but I love the elegant look of foils as well.

The focal point of my card is a piece of Silver Foil die cut with the tree die from the Aspen Tree dies. I placed a piece of the Snowflake Specialty Vellum behind it and adhered to my card front. My sentiment is heat embossed in silver onto a piece of Basic White cropped with a die from Seasonal Labels.

I also heat embossed the edges of this leaf die cut. To achieve this look, drag the edges of the the paper lightly through the Versamark ink pad, then sprinkle with embossing powder and heat with your heat tool.

And, of course, I had to use some Metallic Edge Ribbon. I colored it with the Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blend.
I can't wait to see all of the other projects, I know you will love them as well! Be sure to hop through to see everyone's creations!

Card Measurements:
  • Balmy Blue Cardbase 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4
  • Silver Foil 4 x 5-1/4
  • Snowflake Specialty Paper 4 x 5-1/4

A Gift Idea For Stampin’ for the Christmas Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!

I'm so glad I'm getting to join in with my friends for the Stampin' for Christmas Blog Hop! We have been bringing you projects every month to inspire you and, hopefully, keep Christmas from sneaking up on you. Have you CASE'd any of the projects we've shared? I would love to know!
The project I am sharing today is a set of notecards in a box, and they are so easy to make!

I've used the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes, along with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp, the Forever Fern stamp, and the Lovely & Lasting bundle. I used Fall colors for my project, but it can be adapted to use whatever stamps and colors you wish.

The cool thing about this project is that you make your own DSP! The card fronts come from 1 sheet of cardstock!

To make the card fronts, stamp your images in a "cross" pattern in the center of the cardstock, then use your Paper Trimmer to cut the cardstock in quarters to make 4 pieces 4-1/4 x 5-1/2. You will trim these down to make card fronts. You can get 4 A2 size card fronts by trimming the panels to 4 x 5-1/4,  but since I used notecards, I trimmed 2 of the panels to measure 3-5/8 x 4-7/8, and I cut 2 of them down to 4-1/4 x 2-3/4, using a leftover piece to decorate the front of my box.

I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock to make my box, and stamped Tone on Tone images to give it some texture. Here are the measurements for the box:
  • Rich Razzleberry 3-1/2 x 9-1/2, score on the long side @ 3-3/4, 4-1/2, 8-1/4, & 9 (this makes the inner box to hold the cards)
  • Rich Razzleberry 3-3/4 x 10, score on the long side @ 5-1/4 & 6 (this makes the outer cover that wraps around the box)
Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to check out all of the other neat projects everyone is sharing...Who's ready for Christmas?
