Hey Y'all!
Today, members of Crafty Collaborations are showing you techniques to get the most out of your Stamparatus. Just to get fool-proof stamping is reason enough to own one, but I want to show you the hinge technique. I chose the Pretty Perennials stamp set, the "Happy" sentiment worked perfect for this technique.
The first card uses several different ink colors. I just followed the DSP pattern.
For the second card, I only used one ink color and did an "ombre" look. For this technique, you need to choose a bright, dark color to start with.
You can barely see the last "happy" at the bottom of the card, but it's there!
So here is how it is done....
Place your cardstock you will be stamping on in the Stamparatus. The easiest way is to line it up in the corner, but if you are stamping close to the side of the Stamparatus, it doesn't always give you a good image if you don't press really hard. I like to put my paper in the middle, and I put just a smidge (stick around and I will also teach you how to speak Southern lol!) of Stampin' Seal adhesive on the back to hold it in place, especially if I am using something large like a background stamp where the magnet gets in the way. Place your stamp onto the cardstock, then flip over the plate to pick up the stamp. Open it back up, and ink up your stamp. Another tip...have a stamp case underneath the open plate to keep it level. Flip it back over and press onto the paper.
Now for the technique...bring the plate down 1 notch and repeat the process. For this example, I started with Coastal Cabana, then Bermuda Bay. If you are doing the ombre effect, don't reink your stamp. If you are using different ink colors, make sure to clean the stamp after each time. The Simply Shammy is perfect for this.
Bring the plate down another notch and repeat, this time I used Pretty Peacock.
Brink it down another notch and repeat, this time I used Night of Navy.
And here is the end result. Pretty cool, huh!
