Hey Y’all!
Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project challenge. This week, it is a sketch challenge.
This was my chance to ink up my Pretty Parasol stamp. I have been challenging myself to use stamps that haven't been inked up. I also wanted to use a color I haven't used very often-Magenta Madness. I think it is so pretty paired with black. I chose a piece of True Love DSP for the edge of my card.
I stamped the umbrella image onto Basic White, then punched it with the Umbrella Builder punch. I also punched the hand from Basic Black. I embossed a piece of Basic White with the Brick embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment once onto a piece of Magenta Madness in black ink, then again onto a piece of Basic White in Magenta Madness, then trimmed with my snips. I felt like the "sunshine" got lost in the white background, so I used the brush tip of my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and just went around the edge of the paper to give a thin black outline.
I added a simple twine bow, and, Voila! I also carried the umbrella image to the inside of my card.
Measurements:
- Card Base Basic White Thick 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 scored at 4-1/4
- Basic White embossed layer 4-3/16 x 5-7/16 (just a smidge under 4-1/4 x 5-1/2)
- DSP 3/4 x 5
