Crafty Challenge Blog Hop Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
Today the Crafty Collaborators are sharing projects made using a Color Challenge. I really enjoy participating in Color Challenges, lots of times it challenges you to use colors you normally would not use together, like the ones in this hop!

Now I would not pick these colors together, but seeing them, they just scream fall. I can see using them in fall and autumn projects.

I also have been wanting to try the Alcohol Marker technique, and thought these colors would be perfect. To do the technique, color vellum with Stampin' Blends, here I used Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler since there isn't a Merry Merlot blend. Just randomly color swatches of color all over. Then take a paint brush (I just used one of the cheap artist brushes that come in a pack like kids used for painting), dip it in 91% alcohol, and tap it against your finger to splatter droplets over the vellum. Once you've done it all over, use your heat tool to dry the alchol.

I adhered the vellum to a piece of Basic White cut to the same size, then adhered that to a Merry Merlot Cardbase.  I used the frame die, and also my Stitched Rectangle Dies to create a frame, and also cropped my sentiment with one of the Rectangle Dies. I stamped the feather image in all 3 colors, and made a ribbon embellishment by cutting that oh so gorgeous Cherry Cobbler and Gold ribbon in strips, adding some of the Simply Elegant Trim.
