Stampin' For Christmas Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!

Christmas time's a comin'! Can you believe we are already in April? I'm am excited to share these projects with you every month along with the other amazing demonstrators.  If you aren't working on Christmas yet, hopefully we are giving you lots of ideas to file away for later this year.

The project I am sharing to day is one you probably won't want to mass produce...unless you start on them like now lol!  But I love how it turned out, and I couldn't wait to share it with you.  I do apologize for the quality of the photos, I could not capture the project without the light reflecting off of the plastic of the shaker dome.

I love the beautiful Still Scenes  stamp set and coordinating dies.  I wanted to make a card in the shape of a snowglobe. To achieve this, I used the Layering Circle dies and the Snow Globe Scenes dies, and did some partial die cutting.

To create the card base, start with a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock measuraing 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2. Place the largest circle die with just a smidge off the top folding edge, and place the top cutting plate where it stops just above the bottom edge of the circle. Run through the die cutting machine.

Next, place the die that cuts the base of the snowglobe at the bottom of the circle (where the bottom of the card will be) and place the top cutting place just to the top edge of the die. Run this through the die cutting machine.

Leave the die in place and, using a pencil, trace around the side and top edge just to where it meets the circle and fussy cut.

This is the shape you should end up with.

I used the largest Scalloped Circle die and cut 2 Seaside Spray circles, then cut the snow globe "window" in one of them.  I die cut a Basic White circle to stamp my image on, then colored it with Stampin' Blends. I added some (retired) Snowflake Sequins I had in my stash for shaker material, and then put it all together.  I die cut a Night of Navy base, and added the decorative element die cut with Silver Foil. I colored the ribbon with a Night of Navy light Stampin' Blend..

I used a greeting from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp for the inside of the card.  It looked plain, so I added the tiny stars and snowflakes in Seaside Spray.

The finished card measures 3-1/4 x 4-1/4.  These would also make cute tags, you could just cut one layer of Thick Basic White and not have the fold.  It's a project that is a little more involved, but I think the finished project was worth it!

Your next stop is Helen Jennings, I know you will love what she has made!

Now for the sad news, several items I used in my project are retiring May 3, and are only available while supplies last.  The retiring items are the Still Scenes and Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, the Snow Globe scene dies, the Silver Metallic Edge ribbon, the Silver Foil, and the Seaside Spray cardstock and ink. So if you want them, get them before they are gone!
