Hey Y’all!
I have a very special card to share with you today. We are living in unprecedented times! How many times have you heard that in last few weeks? This coronavirus pandemic is wreaking havoc all over the globe. I am a full time dental hygienist, and this is my second week of not working...I am considered a non-essential high risk employee. And we aren’t sure when we will be able to return, disconcerting to say the least.
You may have seen the Red Ribbon movement, there are Facebook groups about this. The idea came from when the Israelites were slaves in Egypt and God sent the plagues, the last plague was the death of the firstborn. The Israelites were to sacrifice a lamb and put the blood on the doorpost, and the death angel would “pass over” their home. That’s how the Jewish holiday “Passover” cane to be. In fact, this Sunday, April 5, 2020 is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Passover week.
Now putting a red bow on your door is not a magic pill that is going to save you from catching the virus. And no more sacrifices need to be made, Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. But those bows can remind us that their is a powerful God that is still on the throne.
He is the One that will give us hope. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of us make it out of this world alive. Whether it’s the coronavirus, an accident, cancer, or just old age, one day we will all face it.
Today I pray that you can face any challenge with the confidence that God is in control, that Je loves and cares for you, and He wants you to spend eternity in heaven with Him. I made this card for a wonderful lady that has been tested for COVID-19, the test has not come back yet. But she shared a powerful testimony on Facebook, and encouraged believer to join the Red Ribbon movement. Whether you put something red on your door, wear a red ribbon on your shirt, or put something on your mailbox, it will be testimony to the powerful blood of Jesus, and can give others hope and let them know you are praying for this to end. She asked that we use the hashtag #HisbloodstillspeaksP2020. So go decorate my friends, and post your pictures on social media with that hashtag.
