I am so excited about Stampin' Up's On Stage in Atlanta! I wanted to show you my swap card I made, using, what else? Southern Serenade. How could I not use this? I mean, I blog under "Nina's Southern Accents"...it's like they made this set just for me!
I used my favorite colors, too! Pool Party, Crumb Cake, and Night of Navy. That lacy stamp makes a beautiful background, don't you think? I did stamp off once to give it a lighter shade. I stamped the image with Crumb Cake, then I did some quick coloring with a sponge dauber for the flowers-it gives it a water-colored look. I colored the leaves with my Lemon-Lime Twist marker, then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink. Then I embellished with the Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Gold Metallic Thread. I think this is the first time I have ever used the metallic thread on a card, and I LIKE IT! Look for more of that!
I stamped the sentiment, which I love, love, LOVE, in Night of Navy. The sentiments in this set have such a lovely font--there is a "Thank You" and "Happy Birthday" in addition to the one I used, so this is such a versatile set. Kind of like us Southern Women, we rise to the occasion!
