New At SU! Blog Hop-Case a Team Member

Hey Y'all!
How are we halfway through April? Is time flying as fast for you as it is for me? But a new month means a new hop with my friends at the New at SU! Blog Hop. These demonstrators are so talented and the projects they share have inspired me so much. That's why I am so excited about this month's theme-Case a Team Member. I have the privilege of CASEing Loni Spendlove at Creative Juices By Loni. If you aren't familiar with CASEing, it means Copy And Share Everything, or Copy And Selectively Edit. Our wish for creating these blogs is for you to do exactly that, that our projects will inspire your creativity and give you ideas for your projects.

I chose to CASE this cute purse made as a Paper Pumpkin alternative project. Loni is a genius when it comes to creatiing alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin, and this is a prime example. She used one of the slimline card bases to make her project.

I loved the design of the purse, but wanted to be able to use 6x6 paper, As you know, the new catalog is coming soon, and I have alot of retiring DSP to use up-out with the old, in with the new! Gotta make room for more!  I started with a 6x6 piece of DSP, and scored at 3/4" on both sides, then turn it 90°, and score at 2-5/8 and 3-3/8. Burnish all of the score lines with your bone folder, then fold and line up the two sides at the top , then punch halfway down with a 1-1/2" circle punch. To create the handles, punch your cardstock with a 1-1/2" Circle Punch, then punch around that circle with a 2" circle punch. You can also use circle dies. I added the ric rac trim using the Basic Borders dies. I die cut a 3/4" strip of CS in the middle, then used the 2 pieces to wrap around the top of the purse.

Both of my projects use a lot of retiring product, make sure you check out the Last Chance Products list, they are going fast! My first project uses the retiring Hello Ladybug stamp and coordinating punch and Glorious Gingham DSP. I created a label with the Lasting Label punch, stamped the sentiment in Sweet Sorbet, then adhered it to the front of the purse. Stamp the ladybug body with Memento onto Basic White, then stamp the wing image with Sweet Sorbet, and add the spots with Memento. Punch out both pieces and adhere together. Stamp the leaf in Lemon Lime Twist and fussy cut. Adhere the leaf to the purse, then pop the ladybug up with dimensionals. I added a bow made with the Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon to complete the look.

My second project uses the Inked Botanicals DSP and Lost Lagoon CS and ribbon. I used the Perennial Postage Bundle for the label and sentiment, along with the flower image from the Inked and Tiled set.

I used the Calypso Coral, Wild Wheat, and Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write markers to color the flower image, and also flicked the brush tip of the markers to create the splatter.

I plan to make lots of these for Mother's Day to give out at church and work. They will be easy to mass produce, I will probably leave off the ric rac at the top though.
Make sure you hop through to see all of the projects we are sharing! But before you go, please scroll down and leave a comment, I love to hear from my readers!
