Easy Card Sets with DSP and BONUS Custom Monogrammed Envelopes

Hey Y'all!
I just had to share this neat gift idea with you...it's a set of Thank You cards I made for a wedding gift.
I put them in one of our acrylic card boxes, wrapped a 1-1/2 inch strip of coordinating DSP around it, and added one of the daisies from the Daisy Lane set and punch, and voila! Sorry, no picture of them in the case, did I mention I made these the same day as the reception and was putting the finishing touches on them as my husband was yelling at me "WE'VE GOT TO GO WE ARE GONNA BE LATE!" I know that doesn't happen to any of you, right?  I mean, as crafters, it is our JOB to finish things last minute, right?

The star of the show is the Pressed Petals DSP.  I am in love with this paper, and it is a specialty paper, thinner than our regular DSP, but you get 4 sheets of each design.

I used several different stamp sets for the Thank You sentiments, but you could easily use one set.  I used one sheet of the DSP.
One of the things I love most about this project were my custom monogrammed envelopes.
It's hard to see in the picture, but there is a "J & L" embossed in the flap of the envelope.  I used the Hand Lettered Prose dies and die cut the letters from just regular Whisper White Cardstock.  Then I used the retired Embossing Mats for the Big Shot.  My sandwich for the Big Shot was the platform, gray embossing mat, envelope, die cut letters, and the hard white plate that comes with the embossing mats.  If you don't have the embossing mats, you can play around with your sandwich with shims of cardstock and even your silicone craft sheet.
Tips and Tricks:
  • Card Bases are Thick Very Vanilla 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4, 1st layer card stock mats are 4 x 5-1/4, DSP mats are 3-3/4 x 5
  • Save ribbon by tying "faux" knots (see last card picture.) Use Scotch tape to adhere ribbon to the back of the cardstock, then tie a knot around the strip of ribbon, slide up or down for placement, place a glue dot under knot to hold in place.
  • Heat embossing adds elegance to any project, be sure to use the Embossing Buddy before stamping with versamark to eliminate stray powder.
