Sunburst Technique for the Quilting Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!

The Crafty Collaborators are sharing projects today centered around "quilting." This was a challenge for me. I had an aunt that made beautiful quilts, and I love the look of an old fashioned quilt. But me and sewing machines, or needle and thread, do not get along. Give me a hot glue gun and I can conquer the world, but anything to do with sewing....ugh!

However, I love the look you can create with some patterned paper strategically cut and placed on a card front. I created this card using the "Sunburst" technique.There are different ways to do this, I chose a circular pattern. Basically, you cut your DSP into rectangles, then cut those rectangles diagonally into 2 triangles. You will need a piece of cardstock measuring 3-3/4 x 5. Place a 1" circle in the top left corner area, then arrange the triangles in a circular pattern with the points touching the circle. Trim the excess from around the edges of the cardstock, then place your sentiment over where the points intersect on the circle.

For this card, I used the Lovely In Linen DSP, and the Lovely and Lasting Bundle. I just love that paper and think it went so well with this theme.
