Ink Technique Blog Hop With Crafty Collaborations

Hey Y'all!
It is good to be back! I shared in a previous post why I have been AWOL, my mother passed away June 25th, and we celebrated her Homegoing June 29th. We decided to get away and go camping this past weekend for the 4th. I have been out of my craft room for almost a month, and what better way to get back in the groove than with my wonderful friends from Crafty Collaborations with another fun Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.
This hop showcases Ink Techniques, and the one I am sharing today is a blending technique using the Blending Brushes.

To create this look, start with a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White and blend the ink colors beginning with the lightest color. I started with Soft Seafoam and blended it over the entire piece, then added Pear Pizzazz.

The next step is to stamp the images in Versamark ink and heat emboss with Clear Embossing Powder. Make sure the ink is dry, I went over it with my heat tool before I started stamping. I used the greenery images from the Lovely You stamp set. After you have heat set the images, blend over the entire piece with a darker color. I used Just Jade. This technique is similar to the Joseph's Coat technique.

To finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark onto a 1 x 5-1/2 piece of Vellum, and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I wrapped the vellum around the cardstock and adhered it to the back. I added a 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 layer of Soft Seafoam, and attached these layers to a Basic White cardbase.

Tips:
  • When ink blending, start off of the edge of the cardstock and work your way toward the middle to avoid the heavy brush strokes showing. Blend in a circular pattern.
  • Use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your blending brushes. I found 2 for $.98 in the cleaning product section at Walmart.
  • Since we no longer sell the Embossing Buddy, the powdered pouch that helps keep stray embossing powder from getting all over your project, you can make your own. Grab a knee-high panty hose, sprinkle baby powder into it and tie a knot in the top.
I know you are going to love all of the techniques shared today, see everyone else's creations!
