Hey Y'all!
As we say here in South Georgia, "it's been a minute!" Life has been happening full steam ahead, my computer has been acting crazy, and my internet is ALWAYS sloooow! So I have not been blogging like I wanted to. But I just had to share this card with you!
It's a sneak peek of products in the 2019-20 Annual Catalog (12 days away from launching...woohoo!) This stamp set is called "Over The Moon" and it has the cutest cows to stamp and color, plus some fun, "punny" sentiments such as the one I used today.
But what is a cow card without matching Cow Hide DSP? But wait, you can't buy this, you have to make it! And it is so easy! Do you see those two stamps I've circled from the images of the Love What You Do stamp set? Those and some Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Whisper White CS is all you need!
Now, I wish I could take sole credit for this idea, because it is such a genius one. But I totally CASE'd it from fellow demonstrator Dawn Diede. I used Stampin' Blends to color in my cow, then die cut the cow with the largest stitched shape circle from the Stitched Shape Framelits (if you don't own these already, you need them in your life!) and added a scalloped layer from the Layering Circle Framelits. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Real Red CS. The Classic Label punch worked perfectly. The white Baker's twine bow added the finishing touch.
I just had to carry that cow hide over to the inside of my card!
And no naked envelopes allowed! I love how it looks on the flap! This is one of my favorite new stamp sets, it is going to get alot of use at my house. Especially since my daughter is getting her Bachelor's degree in Ag Business, and she is doing her internship this summer with a cattle company. And did I mention she loves her some cows!
Measurements, Tips, and Tricks:
- Card Base-Real Red 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4, "Cow Hide" panel and inside layer-5-1/4 x 4
- Blends are perfect for coloring without leaving any lines. To add some dimension to my sunflower, I used a Stampin' Write Marker (Early Espresso) from the neutrals collection to make dots in the center.
- When using Blends, stamp the image with Memento Ink.
- Stamp backgrounds in somewhat of a "triangle" pattern. Also, turn your stamp and/or paper so they go in different directions. You want a "random" look.
Thanks for stopping by today! If you are interested in ordering any of the products I used, simply click on the pictures below and it will take you directly to my online store.
