This week's Global Design Project challenge is a color challenge.
I used the butterfly image from the Beautiful Day stamp set.
I heat embossed it in white embossing powder, then watercolored it with the inks in the challenge. I added a layer of Basic Black with a very thin border just to set off my butterfly. My card base is Night of Navy, with a layer of Bermuda Bay embossed with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. I split the Bermuda Bay layer with some of the Lovely Lipstick DSP from the 2018-2020 DSP collection. I also added some of that yummy Polka Dot Tulle ribbon. I used the Night of Navy Stampin Write Marker ink up the stamp for my sentiment. The original says "Always thinking of you", I wanted a smaller sentiment and left off "Always." To get the "bokeh" look, I sprinkled water from my Aquapainter onto the image then dried it up with a paper towel. I gave the image some extra shine with some Wink of Stella. I also tapped my Wink of Stella pen to add droplets all over the card, and did the same with the Night of Navy ink and Aquapainter.
Such a fun card!

Tips for this card:
- Stampin' Up! Ink Pads are great for watercoloring! Just press the lid into the well while ink pad is closed, then open it up and the ink well becomes your palette.
- The more water you add, the lighter the ink becomes
- Start light and gradually add ink for variation in color
- To adhere ribbon, lay down a strip of Tear & Tape adhesive, then place the ribbon on top of that
- Use Stampin' Write markers to ink up stamps when you only want a portion of that stamp, or to stamp in different colors.
- Get a "Bokeh" effect by dropping water droplet on ink, then blotting with a paper towel.
- Wink of Stella always add just a hint of shine, and looks great on most any project!
