Crafty Challenge Blog Hop-Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
The days and weeks are flying by! I can't believe it's time again to join my Crafty Collaborations friends for another Crafty Challenge Blog HOp. Today we are sharing a Color Challenge
Here are the colors we were challenged to use:

Color Challenge

Nina's Southern Accents

Aren't they fun! I decided to use one of my favorite stamp sets from the new 2021-22 Annual Catalog that I have not had a chance to ink up yet called "Brew Some Fun." I love me some coffee, and any set having anything to do with coffee is at the top of my list!

I chose a Crumb Cake cardbase to help tone down the bright colors. I randomly stamped the heart image in all three colors on the front of the card. I added a 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 Basic Black layer, and then a 2 x 5-1/2 Melon Mambo layer.  I first ran it through with the Dots embossing folder to add texture.

I used both types of markers Stampin' Up! sells-the Stampin' Write markers and the Stampin' Blends. Each type has a purpose and can be used for different techniques. The blends are great for coloring and achieving shading.  You won't get the harsh lines you do with regular markers.  The Stampin' Write markers are great for coloring on stamps.  This technique cannot be achieved with the blends. I used the blends to color my coffee cups, then "fussy cut" them out. I used the Stampin' Write markers to color the heart images on the sentiment stamp.

I popped the sentiment up with Stampin' Dimensionals, then finished off the card with a a Linen Thread bow, which has started to be my go-to embellishment. I just love the natural look of it, and how it adds just enough without being overpowering. Do you have a favorite embellishment that goes on almost every card you make? Let me know what yours is in the comments!
Now it's time to see all of the other fabulous projects!

Let's Get Hopping Round 44-Favorite Occasions

Hey Y'all!
The Let's Get Hopping Crew is back this month sharing our favorite occasions! If you have been hopping along, you arrived here from Rachel's blog. Welcome! If you are starting with me, make sure you hop all the way through so you get to see all of the beautiful projects we are sharing. I had a tough time with this theme....I don't know if you would call this one an "occasion" but I love sending "Thinking of You" cards just to let people know they are on my mind.

And the  "After The Storm" stamp set had the perfect sentiment!

I only used the sentiments from the set, no other stamping. But I love how this layout shows off this gorgeous Sweet Symmetry DSP! It is one of my favorites from the new catalog, and one of the designs on sale now through August 2. I layered a 3-3/4 x 5 piece of DSP onto a 4 x 5-1/2 piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I also used 1 x 4 strips of other patterns of DSP to layer. I tore the edges, and also distressed the edges of the large piece to give it that "vintage" feel.

I've said many times DSP and a good punch, and you can be a card-making machine! The perfect combination for quick and easy cards.  I used the Lovely Label Pick a Punch to create the decorative edges on my 3/4  strip of Flirty Flamingo, stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy to match the DSP, and Voila! A Linen thread bow finished off the front. I added a 1x4 strip of the DSP to the inside and stamped "You have been on my mind" in Night of Navy.
Now let's see what Alicia has created for us!
