The Global Design Project challenge this week is a color challenge:
And here is my entry:
The Leaf Punch and Pretty Label Punch did most of the work for the focal image. Our Stampin' Write markers are a must have...I used the Blackberry Bliss and Mint Macaron markers to ink up the sentiment. I inked the select words with Blackberry Bliss onto the punched piece of Whisper White, then inked the "friend" up with Mint Macaron, stamped onto another piece of Whisper White and "fussy cut" it out, then popped it up with dimensionals.
The leaves were punched in all 3 challenge colors, and also with some Vellum Cardstock. I sponged 1/2 of one of the Pearlized Doilies with Blackberry Bliss. The punched piece is layered with Grapefruit Grove, and a loop of that yummy Polka Dot ribbon adds just a touch of whimsy.
The Basket Weave embossing folder gives wonderful texture to the card. How do you like this color combo? What is your favorite color combo?
Tips and Tricks:
- Card dimensions: Base-Whisper White 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4, Mint Macaron layer 5-5/8 x 4-3/8
- Highlight words in sentiments by stamping them with a different color and popping up with dimensionals
- Use the Stamparatus to get perfect alignment, especially when using markers since the details may not stamp clearly and you have to re-stamp
- Sponge ink onto the back of the Pearlized Doilies to create any color you want.
- Create a layered look with punches by punching cardstock in a different color, then cut bottom layer in half and adhere to top layer
- To adhere embellishments like doilies that aren't "solid", lay down a strip of snail or Tear & Tape, then attach the doily
