Hey Y'all!
I am joining other demonstrators from around the world for this month's Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop. The theme is Mothers, and I decided to ink up a stamp set that I have had for awhile, and love, but haven't used it until today!
I thought it was perfect for this theme. I thought about focusing on Mother's Day since it is right around the corner, but instead I decided to make a card to encourage those young mothers that are struggling to do everything right. Those of us who have adult children remember those days, don't we!
To create my background, I used the blending brushes and several ink colors. I stamped the images in Memento, then used one of the Hippo and Friends dies to crop the image and popped it up to highlight it. To achieve the "starry sky," I used sticky notes to mask the bottom two-thirds of the card, then tapped the Wink of Stella against the cap to create the splatter.
The sentiment on the oval at the top of the card was actually a happy accident! I had stamped the image directly onto the background. I knew I wanted it to be dark and would need to stamp several times, so I pulled out my trusty Stamparatus (y'all saw all kinds of neat tricks the other day!) and lined everything up and stamped. Well, I had the foam mat in it for photopolymer stamps, and these are red rubber. I realized it was really tight and that mat needed to go. Not thinking, before I stamped a second time, I removed the mat. This made the card placement different, thus a blurry sentiment. So I die cut an oval, blended some Misty Moonlight ink onto it, and stamped my sentiment onto that. I like it better, actually
If you scrapbook, this would be a wonderful set to have. Now that you have seen what I've created, it's time to see everyone else's projects.
