If you love the vintage style, today's project is for you! I needed to make a birthday card, but wasn't sure of the style the person liked. I did some recon...don't you like the way that sounds lol....and found out she likes vintage, 70's type stuff. I was also told if she were a flower, she would be a daisy. So here is what I came up with:
Have you seen the kits collection?
The Fresh As A Daisy Suite was the perfect choice! The colors in the DSP have that retro 70's vibe.
I started with a Copper Clay cardbase and stamped the medium daisy image in versamark around the edge. This is a great way to create a tone-on-tone look. I roughed up the edges of the DSP with my snips and curled the corner, my go to for the vintage look. For the focal image, I die cut the daisy image in Basic White, then added the layer of Lemon Lolly. I adhered this to a piece of Basic White cropped with a Deckled Rectangle die, used a Blending Brush to add Pretty Peacock ink, then embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder-one of my favorites and it is retiring! You can snag it on sale until the end of the month, but only while supplies last!
I also die cut 2 the twiggy images from Pretty Peacock cardstock and attached them behind the rectangle. I die cut the label and stamped the birthday greeting in Pretty Peacock. For the bow, I cut a strip of the Pretty Peacock and Gold ribbon in half, then looped one of those pieces with a length of Copper Clay Jute, and attached it to the back of the label. The speckles came from flicking the brush tip of my Light Copper Clay Stampin' Blend over the card. The Adhesive Backed Solid Gems that are part of the suite added the final touch.
Here are the measurements if you want to CASE this card:
- Copper Clay Cardbase-8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored @ 4-1/4
- DSP 5 x 3-3/4
- Basic White, Lemon Lolly, and Pretty Peacock for die cut images
