Treasured Kindness & Let's Get Hopping Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
I joined the Let's Get Hopping crew for an Instahop, and wanted to share my project here on my blog. We were given a Color Challenge: Very Vanilla, Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo, and Poppy Parade.

I chose to use Treasured Kindness, a beautiful 2-step stamp from the Annual Catalog. I was actually given this set, along with a pack of Distressed Gold paper and a pack of the Champagne Rhinestones by my upline Bethany Barnard as an achievement award. She invited myself and the other achievers to her home, and she fed us lunch and had projects for us to make using this set. I will have to share those in another post. (PS thank you to my customers and downline for your support and helping me achieve these rewards. PSS YOU can achieve these as well by joining my team, the Southern Accents Stampin' Squad, SASS for short. That automatically makes you a member of Partners In Craft.)

Usually, I'm not one to use funky colors, I like to stick with what is natural-blue for sky and water, green for leaves, yellow for sun, etc. But when I started thinking about the color combo and how I would use those colors together, this set with that tree and sun just popped into my mind. I started with a Very Vanilla cardbase, then embossed a VV panel with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. For my focal image, I stamped onto a 2-3/8 x 3-7/8 panel of Very Vanilla. I started with half circle image, stamping that in Pale Papaya. Then I stamped the tree trunk in Crumb Cake. Since this is a 2-step stamp, that means there are stamps to fill in an image. I inked up the 2nd image for the tree trunk, the fill-in color, in Crumb Cake, then stamped off before stamping onto my project to make it a lighter color. For the "leaves", I stamped the solid image in Pale Papaya, then the detailed image in Poppy Parade. The "sun" image was stamped in Flirty Flamingo. I layered this onto a piece of Pale Papaya cropped with a die from Scalloped Contours. For the sentiment, I cropped a label from Seasonal Labels in all 4 of the challenge colors. I stamped the sentiment in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla, then cut the other labels in 1/2 and stacked them. I added a Pale Papaya and popped it up with dimensionals. You can go to Instagram and hop through to see what my friends did with this challenge!
