Share It Sunday Blog Hop-Beauty of the Earth Suite

Hey Y'all!
It is time for another Share It Sunday Blog Hop with the Crafty Collaborators, a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the globe that love to share our projects that we hope inspire your creativity. Share It Sunday is a "free" day, we get to share anything we want to, so I chose one of the cards we made at a recent class. Fall is in the air, even here in South Georgia the weather has cooled off!

This card was made with products from the Beauty of the Earth Suite in the Annual Catalog. The only stamping on the card is the "Hello" sentiment and the "ground" element. The tree is made from the dies and DSP.

I love adding color with the Blending Brushes...have you used them? I added Balmy Blue as a background for my tree. I distressed the edges of my Very Vanilla panel by running the blade of my snips along the edges, then adhered the tree and the leaf die cut. The adhesive sheets are wonderful for these intricate die cuts! I think my favorite die in the set is the one that creates those sweet little birds! I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto a piece of Soft Suede cropped with one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies, then added the birds to give a pop of color.

I embossed a panel of Bumblebee cardstock with the Bark embossing folder. For the inside of the card, I  added a Very Vanilla panel and a strip of DSP to the inside of the card...a great way to use scraps!

One of the rules in cardmaking is "no naked envelopes," right? I stamped the tree image in Soft Suede, then inked up the leaf image in Bumblebee. Then I used a sponge dauber inked with Cajun Craze to add ink randomly on the stamp. I love how that created the look of a fall tree!
When I was designing this card, making it in class, and even writing this post, I had in my mind an old hymn we sang in church when I was a little girl..."For The Beauty of the Earth." I don't know if that is what inspired the title of this suite, but it is so appropriate. Here is the first verse and the chorus, written in 1864 by Folliott Sandford Pierpoint...

For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

Have a beautiful Sunday, friends! Now it's time to see what everyone else is sharing today.
