Coloring Technique Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!
Today the Crafty Collaborators are teaming up to show you some coloring techniques. It also gave me a chance to highlight some products from the new Annual Catalog that went live today!

The first coloring “technique” I want to share is using the stamps themselves. The Hand Penned Petals set is a “two-step” stamp that has outline images and then “filler” stamps.

I stamped the outline image in Smoky Slate for a softer look, then used the five new 2021-23 In-Colors for the filler. To color the center of the petals, I used a Blender pen, which is the next coloring technique I want to show.
The Blender Pens are a tool often overlooked, but are a great staple to have in your craft room. They turn any color of ink into a marker, making them a very economical way to color.

For this card, I stamped the outline images in Memento ink, then pressed acrylic stamping blocks in my ink pads to create palettes. I picked up the ink with my blender pen and colored in the images. I used Shimmery White cardstock, as regular cardstock tends to “pill,” especially if you are coloring a large area. To clean the tip, you need to gently roll it on a scratch piece of paper until the ink is gone, don’t swipe back and forth, it will damage the tip.
The Blender Pens also work great with our Watercolor Pencils, another great way to color!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have picked up some coloring tips. Now it’s time to see what everyone else has created.
