Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!
I am sharing a fun technique card using Frost White Shimmer Paint and Blending Brushes to create this beautiful pearl effect on paper.

To create this look, put a drop of shimmer paint onto an acrylic block and add just a little bit of water.  This makes it go further so you don't have to use so much.  Pick it up with a blending brush and swirl over a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Night of Navy cardstock (or any color of your choice.)

Use the large Seaside Seashells Die to cut out the image, and then run through the Seashells 3D embossing folder.

Add a piece of Sand & Sea DSP measuring 4 x 5-1/4 to a Gray Granite cardbase, then adhere the die cut piece on top.  I used the Tasteful Labels dies for my sentiment, and added a piece of Braided Linen Trim (that I will miss so much because it is retiring!)
***The Frost White Shimmer Paint is retiring and has now sold out, but you can purchase it from other craft supply sources.

It Sunday Blog Hop

Hey Y’all!
I wanted to share this gift idea for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop. It is a set of 6 cards and envelopes made with items from the Hydrangea Hill suite.

I embellished one of the Acetate Card Boxes with a belly band. All 6 cards have a Basic White Thick cards base.

The first 3 cards have a Misty Moonlight panel measuring 4-1/8 x 5-3/8, then a DSP layer measuring 4x5-1/4.

The other 3 have a Highland Heather panel (4-1/8x5-3/8), then the DSP is 4x4-1/4, and a strip 4x1-1/4. The Story Label punch (retiring) was perfect to add sentiments from the Happy Thoughts Stamp set.

This would make a great Mother’s Day gift. Now that you’ve seen mine, it’s time to see what everyone else has made!

Retiring In Colors Blog Hop

Hey Y'all!
I am joining my friends from Crafty Collaborations to showcase our retiring In Colors! If you subscribe to my blog, you've seen this card before, but I just couldn't help showing it again.

I used items from the Sand & Sea Suite, the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle and the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder.

The large die cuts out this panel, and it coordinates with the embossing folder. I first die cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic White, then stamped the shells in each of the retiring In-Colors (I stamped off first to get a softer shade), then I ran it through the embossing folder. I added the sand dollar and starfish, my sentiment, and a  Linen Thread bow. **Because the Purple Posy Ink Pad was discontinued due to quality issues, I used the Stampin' Write marker to ink up the stamp for this color.

The sparkles on the card base were created by dipping my Wink of Stella brush into Seaside Spray reinker and tapping against the lid over the top of the card. Be sure to move everything out of the way, it can get messy!
The sad news is these colors are retiring, the good news is this stamp set and embossing folder aren't! But why wait? This is a perfect set for summer...scrapbook pages for those beach vacations, cards for your beach loving friends...Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to create beautiful things!
Now that you have seen my project, it's time to see what everyone else has created!
