Who Inspires You? Let’s Get Hopping Round 14

Hey Y'all!
The Let's Get Hopping crew is back with another fun hop that I know you are going to love.  But the theme has to be the hardest one I've ever done....Who Inspires You?  How do I make a project that shows Pinterest, my South Georgia Stampers, my Partners In Craft demonstrators, every single project made by the Artisan Design Team, the numerous YouTube channels I am subscribed to....?  And the list goes on and on.
So I have narrowed it down and chosen three people that when I have lost my "stampin' mojo" I can look at their projects and get inspired.
I combined styles and design elements from each one into this project.  It is a photo album I saw Ronda Wade make on one of her Wednesday Facebook Live videos in her  Creating Success With Ronda Wade group.  I watch every single one, even though I am unable to catch her live, I watch the replay because she has some cute and SIMPLE stuff on there.  The video showing the instructions for this album was aired on August 22, 2018 if you want to check it out.

The idea for the rosette element comes from another special lady and fellow demonstrator, Christi Wroe.  You can see her projects at her Facebook page, Little Paper Mouse.  Her heart is poured into every little detail, and I love her vintage style.  What's even more fun than seeing the project she has made is reading the description...and why that project is special to her.  Her love for crafting is very evident, I just wish I knew her secret to time management and how she squeezes in all the baking and crafting and quilting....What is the secret Christi?  Do you ever sleep???
And last, but certainly not least, this project was inspired by the person who started the Let's Get Hopping blog hop, and also a member of the Artisan Design Team, Jennifer Frost.  In fact, I would not even be doing this if it were not for her reaching out to fellow demonstrators who were interested in learning more about blogging.  I can certainly say, "We've come a long way, baby!"  This is a photo album/scrapbook, and Jen has shared her love of scrapbooking in many of her blog posts.  This is a perfect way to share Christmas photos with family and friends.  And if you are like me and a big scrapbook intimidates you, start with a small project like this.  My friend and upline, Bethany Barnard, says, "A scrapbook page is just a big card, and a card is just a small scrapbook page."
These are photo mats I inserted into the Medium Envelopes.  One of the beautiful things about this project is that you can add as many envelopes as you want.  You can even put in more than 1 photo mat into each envelope.
Tips, Tricks, and Measurements:

  • DSP 6 x 12, scored at 4-1/2 and 9, photo mats 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, DSP under deer 3-1/2 x 5-1/4
  • Fold the flap of the first envelope BACK away from the opening and adhere down.  Adhere the flap of the second envelope to the bottom of the first, the flap of the next one to the bottom of the one above it, and so on.  I used 4 envelopes, but use as many as you like.  Put adhesive on the back of the 1st envelope only and glue down onto DSP, fold up others accordian style.
  • The rosette is made with 2 1-1/2 strips of cardstock, score every 1/2 inch, fold accordian style. Attach the ends to form a circle.  Punch a circle, put hot glue in the middle and squeeze rosette together forming a tight circle and hold until the hot glue holds it in place.
  • Use the multipurpose adhesive sheets for intricate die cuts, like the corner embellishments on this project.  Put on cardstock before you die cut, and it makes the die cut piece like a sticker.
Next up is the Oh So Talented Teresa Brown.  You are going to love what she has in store.

If you enjoyed today's project, let me know by leaving a comment below!  YOU, my readers and fellow crafters, inspire me and encourage me as well!  I hope that some of you can say I have inspired you at some time, that is my goal here.  I love the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart: "To love what we do and share what we love as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments...In this we make a difference."  I hope and pray I have a positive impact on those I come in contact with, to brighten their day, to make them feel loved.  If someone has done that for you, let them know!  And most importantly, pay it forward!  Be someone's inspiration and encouragement today!
Love,
Nina
