Crafty Challenge Blog Hop-Color Challenge

Hey Y'all!
If you enjoy seeing lots of crafty inspiration, you have come to the right place! The Crafty Collaborators are always excited to share projects to get those creative juices flowing. Today's hop is a Color Challenge:

I chose a new stamp, Oceanfront, from the new January-June Mini Catalog, to use for this challenge.

I don't usually venture "out of the box." When I am crafting, I stay true to nature...if the sky is blue, I make it blue, grass green, bugs and flowers as close to what their natural color is, green leaves, you know, nothing out of the ordinary.

But sometimes you see someone's project, and the colors are nowhere near what they are in nature, but it looks amazing. So, when I saw the color challenge, I immediately thought of this set, and said to myself, "Today's the day...we are living dangerously and going outside the box!" Lol! Of course, I had to stick with my wonky, vintage style. Before you check out all of the other amazing projects, comment below and tell me, are you an "in the box, stick to the normal colors" crafter? Or do you sometimes live dangerously and color outside the lines? I hope I've inspired you to live on the wild side, in the crafting world anyway. Any other wild living might get us arrested...let's don't go there LOL!
PS, this may become a habit….I stamped a purple ladybug yesterday…and I liked it!

Card Measurements and Instructions:
  • Cardbase: Basic White Thick 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, score @ 4-1/4, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, and Vellum layers 4 x 5-1/4, Basic White 3-3/4 x 5.
  • Stamp "sky" image in Highland Heather, stamp "water" image in Coastal Cabana, and stamp "sand" image in Flirty Flamingo (I stamped it twice, one going one way, then turning the stamp 90° and stamping again.)
  • Stamp the "grass" image in Soft Suede
  • Stamp the sentiment (from In The Moment, Oceanfront has no words) in Memento
  • Staple a short length of ribbon to the top of the card. I used a Highland Heather Stampin' Blend to color the staples so it blends in a little better.
  • Tear the edges off of the Basic White stamped piece and the vellum
  • Use the blade of your snips to "scrape" the edges of the Coastal Cabana and Flirty Flamingo panels to create the worn, frayed look.
  • Attach the layers to the Cardbase
  • Stamp the grass image on the inside of the card

Share It Sunday-Days To Remember

Hey Y'all!
It's another Share It Sunday Blog Hop with the Crafty Collaborators, a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the globe. I love this hop because we get to share whatever we please, and you get to see all kinds of creativity!
I am sharing projects from a class I had last weekend featuring the Days To Remember stamp. Confession: it intimidated me for a looooonnng time. It was one of the first stamps I ordered from the 2021-22 Annual Catalog, but I did not even attempt to use it until about 2 months ago.

But thanks to one of our very own, Gez Carpenter, I learned how easy it is to use. In fact, I CASE'd her easel calendar for one of the projects in my class. Thanks, Gez, for the inspiration! You can see how she created the easel calendar at her blog, Nigezza Creates

A couple of tips for the Easel Calendar:
  • Basic White for the months: 2-1/2 x 3
  • Use Foam Adhesive Sheets with the numbers from the Playful Alphabet dies to pop them up easily.

We also created this sticky note holder.

And 2 cards using the Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes. The Rainbow of Happiness bundle and coordinating DSP, Sunshine & Rainbows (which, by the way, is FREE during Saleabration!) was a perfect compliment to this set. And did you know the Cloud punch also coordinates with the DSP? I also used the Flowers & Leaves punch to add flowers to the "calendar" card.
I made a video to show how to line up the numbers on the ink pad.

Now it's time to hop around and see what everyone else is sharing!

More Friendly Hello Projects!

Hey Y'all!
I am sharing more projects made with the Friendly Hello bundle that you can only get for FREE during Saleabration!

I've created this matching purse and card featuring the DSP. I used the birthday greeting from the Friendly Hello stamp, and also brought in the "for you" sentiment from Sentimental Swirls.

The Black Glitttered Organdy Ribbon and Black Glitter paper were perfect with this DSP.

You can see here how there is a layer of glimmer paper-just punch a scalloped oval, and cut it 1/2 lengthwise and layer the Petal Pink oval on top.

Here is the matching purse....

...and a side view

I created this one from another pattern of the DSP.

Here is the template for the purse. You can get 2 purses and 2 cards from 1 12x12 sheet of DSP.

Measurements:
  • DSP 6 x 8 (cut the 12 x 12 sheet at 8 first, then the 8 x 12 cut 2 pieces 6 x 8, you will have a 4 x 12 piece leftover. You can cut this piece into 2 4 x 5-1/4 for a card front)
  • Score on the 6" side @ 1" & 5"
  • Score on the 8" side @ 2-1/2, 3-1/2, 6, 6-1/2
  • Trim as shown above
  • Punch holes for ribbon, and round corners of flap with Detailed Trio Punch
  • For the handle, thread 8” of ribbon through the punched holes and knot each end
  • Fasten the flap with Velcro dots or magnets
