Handmade Easter, ANYTHING BUT A CARD! Let's Get Hopping Round 7

Hey Y'all!

It's time for another round with my friends from the Let's Get Hopping crew! For this hop, our challenge was an Easter theme, ANYTHING BUT A CARD! Well, how about an Easter Basket!

Now, other than being a basket, I know it doesn't say anything about Easter. Confession time....the stamp set I had planned on using did not arrive in time for this hop, so I had to improvise. I had planned to use the Wood Crate Die, so why not use the stamps that coordinate? And now I can give it for any occasion!
This basket features the Wood Words Bundle. The Wood Crate Framelit is designed to make a Wood Crate by cutting the die 2 times, and the finished box size is 3-1/4 x 1-5/8 x 1-5/8". But I decided to alter the design and get a bigger container, because we all know an Easter basket has to hold lots and lots of treats, right? This square basket measures 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 x 1-5/8". To make the square basket, cut 4 of the Wood Crate framelits, cut off the short end piece, then adhere the tabs together to make a square. I reinforced the bottom with a piece of 3-1/4 x 3-1/4" cardstock. The scallops on the handle came from the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch, just punch 2 pieces of 3/4 x 11" cardstock and glue to a piece of 3/4 x 11" Whisper White CS. I attached another piece of Calypso Coral to the back of the strip to make it blend in.

The flower image was stamped in Night of Navy, then colored with the Calypso Coral and Old Olive Light and Dark Stampin' Blends. I also sponged the tag and doily with Calypso Coral.

Sale-A-Bration Saturday--Party Pandas

Hey Y'all!
I am starting a new series of blog posts that will feature some of our Sale-A-Bration products; I am calling it, can you guess, Sale-A-Bration Saturday! So every Saturday I will be featuring one of the Sale-A-Bration items.
Today I want to show off the Party Pandas set.

Those Pandas are so sweet! And this set has several greetings: Happy Birthday, Hi, and Love You, so it is very versatile.

Now this card layout is one I CASE'd from Connie Stewart. I thought it was so fun with the open window. I added a piece of that beautiful Whole Lot Of Lovely DSP to the inside for some contrast. Of course you couldn't write a message on the black and white polka dots, so I used the same Lots of Labels Framelit that I used for the front of the card to place on the inside to write a message to the recipient.

To make this card, you start with a card base measuring 4-1/2 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2. Remove 1-1/2" and then again remove 1-1/2". Save both pieces. I ran the card and 1 of the pieces through the Big Shot in the Ruffled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder. I did it with the waves going vertically because it reminded me of party streamers. I stamped the panda on the Whisper White layer, then stamped just the balloon on the 3 colors shown, then fussy cut them out and attached them. I did pop the Lemon-Lime Twist balloon up with a dimensional. To add extra balloon strings, just use a black Stamoin’ Write marker. I also used the markers to color on the little confetti stamp. I embossed the Happy Birthday with White Embossing Powder onto Basic Black and used the Duet Banner Punch to make the banner. To attach the lower portion of the card, first attach the extra strip you cut off, like this.

Then attach the lower strip. I used liquid glue for this. This extra strip will also give more stability to the card.

Now you are ready to attach the layered stamped piece. This was a fun card to make, and it will be even more fun to give!

Barn Door Bundle

Hey Ya'll!
Can you believe we are almost at the end of February? One of my New Year's Goals was to blog at least once a week. It hasn't happened yet, it's been more like once a month! Well, a goal is something to work towards, right? Thanks to all of you who support me and hang in there with me! When I started blogging and doing YouTube videos, I did not realize the time it takes for that process. As we say in the South, I might have bit off more than I can chew! But it is worth it to get to share with you guys! And today, I have an awesome interactive card using a new bundle from the 2018 Occasions Catalog. It is the Barn Door Bundle, and I fell in love when I saw it.

It has so many options. For this first card, I stamped the wreath and flowers separately, then used the framelits to cut them out. I also used a stamp from the Label Me Pretty set, to add the yellow accents above and below the sentiment.

For this next card, I used the stamp set "This Little Piggy" from the annual catalog.

I stamped the pig with Basic Black ink, then colored it with a Powder Pink marker and added some green to the grass with my watercolor pencils. The barn door was stamped in Early Espresso.

I just love those little piggy kisses, don't you?
